Mathieu Luciano is the Head of the Assistance to Vulnerable Migrants Unit at the headquarters of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Geneva. Within IOM’s Migrant Protection and Assistance Division, he is in charge of IOM’s anti-trafficking programming, as well as programmes that address the rights and needs of other migrants in a situation of vulnerability, such as migrant children. Prior to this Mathieu worked as the Regional Liaison and Policy Officer at IOM’ Regional Office for the Middle East and North Africa in Cairo, Egypt, where he contributed to IOM’s response to protection and migration management challenges in the region. Mathieu also worked for IOM in Indonesia and Belgium.
