Andrea Saldarriaga is an international lawyer and expert on business and human rights with broad experience working with companies, industry groups and international organisations to ensure respect for human rights in the context of business activities. Andrea is the founder and principal of SILA Advisory, a mission-driven organisation seeking to infuse respect for human rights across business activities and public policy.
From 2013 to 2016 Andrea helped to establish and lead the Investment & Human Rights Project at the London School of Economics (LSE), the first-ever project in an academic setting that brought together investment and human rights expertise. Since 2015, Andrea has served as an expert to the Project Complaint Mechanism at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, assessing the Bank’s compliance with its environmental and social policies in various investment projects.
Andrea was a visiting fellow of the Columbia Center on Sustainable Investment (2010-2018) and is currently a visiting fellow at the LSE. Andrea teaches business & human rights at the LSE, ESSEC Business School Paris, ESCP Business School Europe and Sciences Po School of Management.
